Managing Director, Tony Lim, founded Marknet Technology in 1992. The original premises were located at Guildford, Sydney NSW. By 1998 the business had expanded sufficiently to demand a move to larger premises in Auburn, Sydney NSW.
Market specialises in component-level repair of notebook computer motherboards, hard disk drives (HDD), power supply, CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, CD-Writers, LCD colour displays, and desktop colour TFT flat panel monitors. Marknet is also a reseller of PC products and peripherals.
In 1993, Marknet increased their level of services to cater to the needs of consumers requiring repairs to electronics such as TV’s Hi-fi systems, LCDs, and PCBs. 1994 saw the business experience a rapid growth with service and repairs of laptops becoming the key business strength.
Continuous growth in the repair industry, we have been appointed by leading notebook manufacturers such as Panasonic, Toshiba, Compaq, Dell, NEC and Apple to become their national service centre for their Laptop ranges.
Fast moving pace of technologies, Marknet’s offerings expanded and covered an extensive range of electronic devices from PCB to LCDs. Manufacturers and businesses such as Fujitsu, Bytecraft, Harvey Norman, TAB Corp approached us to conduct fault analysis and component-level repairs of their products.

In 2006, Marknet introduced the Panasonic Toughbook as a replacement solution for Telstra FMC’s cumbersome PDAs. A rugged Laptop – Panasonic Toughbooks were tested and found to be true warriors in the field environment providing long-term benefits.
Marknet continuing effort to provide their customers with the highest level standard of equipment has generated high numbers of sales and repeat business. To date, Marknet has been providing Telstra with over 8000 units of Toughbooks including continuous updates of new Toughbook models.
